Summary
Wireless Deck does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data from the app. Nearby Wi-Fi and Bluetooth information is processed locally on your device so the app can show network details, nearby Bluetooth Low Energy devices, signal strength, radio context, and related diagnostics.
Information the app uses
- Nearby Wi-Fi network information that macOS makes available to the app
- Your Mac's current Wi-Fi connection details
- Nearby Bluetooth Low Energy advertisement data that macOS makes available to the app
- Bluetooth authorization status, because macOS may require it before nearby BLE devices can be discovered
- Location authorization status, because macOS requires it before apps can access nearby Wi-Fi names and BSSIDs
- Recent local cache snapshots for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth so the app can restore the last visible results on launch
This information is used only to operate the app's on-device wireless discovery, local display, and local cache restore features.
Information we do not collect
- No user accounts
- No scan-result uploads
- No analytics or advertising SDKs
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking
- No sale or sharing of app data with third parties
Location permission
Wireless Deck requests location permission only because macOS uses that permission as a gate for access to nearby Wi-Fi SSIDs and BSSIDs. The app is not a mapping app and does not build location histories or determine your precise geographic position for its own purposes.
Bluetooth permission
Wireless Deck may request Bluetooth access so the Bluetooth radar can discover nearby Bluetooth Low Energy devices. The app uses that access only for on-device discovery and display. It does not upload discovered device identifiers or build remote profiles of nearby devices.
Clipboard
If you use the copy actions in the app, Wireless Deck writes selected scan results or debug logs to the macOS pasteboard so you can paste them elsewhere. This happens only when you trigger the action.
Data retention
Wireless Deck does not maintain a remote database of your app data. Temporary app state, such as current scan results and the on-screen debug console, remains local to your device and is used only while operating the app. The app also stores recent Wi-Fi and Bluetooth snapshots locally on your Mac so it can restore the last view on launch.
Third-party services
Wireless Deck does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
Children's privacy
Wireless Deck is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
